Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our client’s Vendor Management Office (VMO) within their IT department. The Head of IT VMO will be responsible for overseeing all IT vendor-related activities during an ERP Transformation Program to ensure the successful deployment of business and technology transformations, aligning vendor activities with the Group’s business goals and ensuring delivery of high-quality services and products.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor Strategy and Management
Deep understanding of vendor management strategy for business and technology transformations
Develop and execute a comprehensive vendor management strategy aligned with the organization’s IT and business objectives
Establishing policies, procedures, and best practices for vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance evaluation.
Enterprise Transformation Projects
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors to ensure ongoing alignment with project objectives and organizational values, serving as the primary point of contact for vendors.
Ensure vendors deliver high-quality services and products that align with project timelines and budgets.
Contract Negotiation and Administration
Lead negotiations for large-scale software, hardware, and consulting contracts.
Manage contract lifecycle from initiation through renewal, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
Ensure all contracts are aligned with legal, regulatory, and company policies.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Outstanding collaboration and coordination skills to work closely with internal stakeholders, including IT, finance, procurement, and business units.
Ensure vendor activities are aligned with project needs and business objectives.
Act as the primary point of contact between vendors and the organisation.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
Demonstrated capability in monitor and control of vendor performance and service delivery, defining and tracking needed KPIs
Conduct regular performance reviews and audits to ensure vendors meet their contractual obligations, implement corrective actions and improvement plans as needed to address performance issues.
Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on vendor performance, cost savings, and risk management.
Risk Management
Identify and mitigate risks associated with vendor relationships and contracts.
Develop and implement contingency plans to address potential vendor issues.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) is preferred.
Minimum of 12 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or a related role within a large organisation, preferably in Retail sector
Proven experience in negotiating and managing large-scale software, hardware, and consulting contracts.
Strong history of managing complex stakeholder interests and expectations effectively
Proficiency in vendor management tools and software
Strong understanding of IT and business processes within a retail environment.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with ability to manage multiple vendors and complex contracts.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing and delivering detailed reports.
