Role Summary:

A Programme Planner is responsible for the strategic organization and management of Programme level activities from inception to completion of the Programme. Their primary role is to develop and maintain project plans, supporting the project to deliver on time, within scope, and on budget. Identify and allocate resources, including team members, equipment, and budget, identify inter dependencies on the tasks within a project or between projects within the Programme to ensure Programme requirements are met. Establish and manage project schedules, setting deadlines and ensuring that tasks are completed on time.

 

Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Programme level Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and milestones. Identify and manage project risks and issues and implement mitigation strategies as needed.

  • Client Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the implementation process. Gather requirements, set expectations, and ensure clear communication between all parties involved.

  • Resource Management: Coordinate with internal teams to allocate resources effectively. Monitor and manage team workloads to ensure timely project delivery.

  • Progress Monitoring: Track program and project progress against the plan and provide regular status updates to stakeholders. Adjust plans and resources as necessary to address any changes or issues.

  • Documentation: Maintain thorough project and program documentation, including plans, status reports, and meeting notes. Ensure all program/project documentation is up-to-date and accessible.

  • Quality Assurance: Work with QA teams to ensure the software meets client requirements and quality standards. Facilitate user acceptance testing and address any issues that arise.

  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze project outcomes and processes to identify areas for improvement. Implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Functional/Technical Competencies

  • Proven experience in program/project planning and management, preferably in software implementation or IT projects.

  • Strong understanding of software development life cycles and implementation methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and internal teams.

  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello) and productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality results.

 

Personal Characteristics and Required Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus.

  • Minimum of 7+ years of overall work experience in the field of IT with at least 3+ years within IT Project Management stream.

  • Experience in working with ERP (SAP/Oracle)

  • Prior working experience as a team member within PMO or part of the Project Team is Plus.

  • Project management certifications as CAMP, RMP, CSM, PMP considered as added advantage.

  • Must be located within UAE and willing to travel on a need basis.
